Do I need to create an account?
No. None of CoverGrabber’s tools require an account, an email address, or a login of any kind.
Is my data or an uploaded image stored anywhere?
No. Every tool runs entirely in your browser. Links you paste and images you upload are never sent to a server or stored anywhere.
Does CoverGrabber work on mobile?
Yes, every tool works in a mobile browser on Android and iOS with no app required. A few download actions on iOS need a press-and-hold to save instead of a direct download.
Is CoverGrabber affiliated with YouTube or Google?
No. CoverGrabber is an independent set of tools that works with publicly available YouTube data. It isn’t operated by, endorsed by, or affiliated with YouTube or Google.

Is it legal to download YouTube thumbnails?
Downloading a thumbnail for personal reference, research, or educational use is generally fine. The image still belongs to the video’s creator, so get permission before using it commercially or presenting it as your own.
Can I use a downloaded thumbnail commercially?
Only with the creator’s permission. Using a thumbnail as a private reference is one thing, republishing or monetizing someone else’s image is a separate situation that can raise a copyright claim.
Is it legal to download a Shorts thumbnail specifically?
Yes, the same rules apply as any other YouTube thumbnail. Shorts don’t have a different legal status.

Technical Support
Why isn’t the Full HD size available for some videos?
Not every video has a 1280×720 thumbnail stored. Older or lower-resolution uploads may only have smaller sizes available, and CoverGrabber only shows the sizes that genuinely exist.
Does this work on YouTube Shorts?
Yes. Shorts use the same thumbnail system as regular videos, so any tool that accepts a video link also accepts a Shorts link.
What browsers are supported?
